Health and Safety Policy

 

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 imposes statutory duties on employers and employees.

 

It is Galloway Facilities Ltd Intention, so far as reasonably practicable, to ensure:

  • The working environment is safe and without risks to health
  • There are adequate facilities and arrangements for welfare at work
  • The provision and maintenance of safe machines, equipment and systems of work
  • Safe arrangements for use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances
  • Information is available for safe use of machines and substances used at work
  • Employees are provided with instruction, training and supervision to ensure their health and safety

It is the duty of all employees at work to ensure:

  • That reasonable steps are taken to safeguard the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work
  • Co-operation with the Management so far as is necessary to ensure compliance with any duty or requirement imposed on the employer, or other person, under any relevant statutory duties.

 

All employees at Galloway Facilities are asked to :

THINK: about everyone’s safety, not just my own

ALWAYS: ensure I am trained to undertake the task

BE FIT: to work and carry out my duties

DRIVE: safely and appropriately at all times

PPE: always wear correct PPE and check tools and equipment

REPORT IT: if I see an unsafe act or condition

PLAN & PREPARE: for my work before it starts

STOP: if I feel unsure or feel the situation is unsafe
